BUT, from my personal experience they will not stay on very long this way. Great for a night out or something like that or if you want to be able to take them off and re-use them.
But if you want to wear them for a couple of weeks you need to glue them on. I glue mine on and like the medium length. I also file the sharp edge after the glue has set, which only takes a few seconds, it's like super glue.
If I wear the short or medium, I can type, do dishes, anything I would do with my own nails. Sometimes if I can only find a color I like in the long length, I just cut and file them after the glue sets.

I put my nails on a little different than the illustration shows.
My process:
1. Clean your nails, push your cuticle back, trim it if necessary.
2. Use an emory board to rough up the nail a little so the glue will hold better.
3. Fit a nail to each of your nails to find the right fit, lay them out in the order you will put them on, I do thumb to pinky.
4. When you're ready, cover your nail with glue then grab the correct nail and put it on your fingernail, making sure it is straight and pushed back as far as possible towards the cuticle. (Tip: make sure you don't get it on top of cuticle skin, or it will get sore). I hold it down tight and give it a couple of seconds to start to stick then I if there is excess glue around the nail, I wipe it off with a tissue.
5. I let them dry a few minutes then if I need to cut them, if they are longer than I want I clip them then file off the sharp edges.
